TechConnect

TECHConnect – Technology Transfer Festival  is a project funded by UEFISCDI (PN-IV-P7-7.4-FTT-2024-0055), to facilitate collaborations between academia, business and public administration for technology transfer. One key focus was on presenting research results with a high potential for application in industry and connecting them with relevant economic sectors. The activities took place in parallel in 3 cities in the Centru Region of Romania: Brașov, Târgu-Mureș and Sibiu.

Project Impact

The TECHConnect event in Sibiu brought together 125 participants from academia, industry, public institutions, and national and European authorities. The discussions followed a top-down approach, moving from strategic vision to concrete applications, addressing innovation policy, funding opportunities, and practical demonstrations of relevant technologies.

The first panel focused on the transition from Industry 4.0 to Industry 5.0 while the second panel addressed the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH) initiative. Subsequent parallel sessions focused on funding opportunities and academia–industry collaboration. These exchanges also led to follow-up meetings and the identification of concrete collaboration opportunities.

The event also included practical demonstrations of AI applications, such as business process automation chatbots, AI integration in enterprise resource planning systems, large-scale document processing, and AI-based application development. A dedicated networking space facilitated matchmaking throughout the event.
