    Cyber Physical Social Systems

The Connected Intelligence Research Center – INCON, part of Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, provides research, development and innovation services, experimental testing, prototyping and knowledge transfer for companies, SMEs, public authorities, research organizations and other entities interested in adopting advanced technologies.

INCON’s services are designed to reduce technological risk before major investments, validate solutions in laboratory or relevant environments, develop prototypes and demonstrators, and strengthen the digital capabilities of organizations. The main areas covered include artificial intelligence, Digital Twin and Agentic Twin technologies, cyber-physical systems, virtual/augmented/mixed reality, robotics, automation, human–machine interaction, rapid prototyping, 3D scanning and Smart City solutions.

Main Service Packages

1. Test Before Invest

This package enables companies and public authorities to experiment with, simulate and validate technologies before committing to major investments. Services include digital and technological maturity assessment, identification of suitable technologies, technological demonstrations, prototype development, testing of AI/Digital Twin/XR solutions, and validation of industrial or Smart City scenarios.

2. Innovation Ecosystem and Technology Transfer

INCON supports organizations in connecting with technology providers, research partners, European networks and funding opportunities. Services include partner identification, support for structuring innovative ideas, market studies, RDI analyses, technology transfer support, and technical recommendations regarding the compliance of advanced digital solutions.

3. Digital Skills and Applied Training

INCON provides digital skills assessment and applied training in areas such as AI, Digital Twin, XR, automation, robotics and cyber-physical systems. These services can be adapted for industrial organizations, public institutions and technical teams seeking to accelerate their transition towards Industry 4.0/5.0 and smart public administration.

4. Contract Research and Experimental Development

INCON can carry out applied research and experimental development activities for organizations aiming to develop new or significantly improved products, processes or services. Services include AI algorithm development, mechatronic design and integration, prototyping, testing and validation of demonstrators, as well as support for the exploitation of research results.
