International Phase Ecotrophelia Competition 2015

Three students from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Food Industry and Environmental Protection at the „Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu represented Romania at Ecotrophelia 2015, in Italy, in Milan. The “Alfa Flower” team, formed by the students Daniela Andrășescu, Gabriela Buricea and AndreeaCatrina, students in the fourth year at the Control and expertise of food products, coordinated by the Head of Works, PhD, Eng. Olga Drăghici, won the First Prize at the national phase of the Ecotrophelia 2015 contest. At the final held at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Banat (USAMVB) Timișoara, ULBS students presented a unique product, which attracted the most points from of the jury, of all 19 presented: muffin with turkey and rabbit, with a unique combination of special ingredients, accompanied by two sauces, one sweet or one spicy. „What brought this product in addition to the others in the competition is the fact that the animal fat was completely replaced with vegetable oils, rich in omega, overall has a low cholesterol level, has no additives and is a complete meal. This product is mainly addressed to active people, with a busy schedule, successfully replacing lunch, the school package or a snack, but also to the average consumer „, explained the three winners.
