Activity Report 2020-2024
Overview
This report highlights the activities and achievements of the Research Center for Biotechnology and Food Engineering (CCBIA) at the "Lucian Blaga" University of Sibiu from July 1, 2020, to June 30, 2024. CCBIA is dedicated to advancing research in biotechnology and food safety.
Structure and Organization
The center is led by a director, supported by a scientific secretary, and includes coordinators for the departments of Food Engineering, Biotechnology and Microbiology, and Applied Chemistry.
Members of the Center
CCBIA comprises permanent academic staff and affiliated doctoral students who actively contribute to research development.
Objectives and Activities
- Infrastructure Development: Implementing projects, acquiring new equipment, and establishing new partnerships.
- Dissemination of Results: Publishing scientific papers, indexing the journal "Acta Universitatis Cibiniensis. Series E: Food Technology" in international databases, and organizing national and international conferences.
- Attracting Specialists: Launching doctoral projects, attracting new members and international collaborators.
- International Cooperation: Establishing national and international partnerships, and coordinating bachelor's, master's, and doctoral theses.

- Securing funding for research projects at international, national, and local levels.
- Engaging in Erasmus+ projects, contracts with third parties, donations, and sponsorships.
- Publishing articles in journals indexed in international databases (Web of Science, Scopus, etc.).
Edited Journals
CCBIA publishes the journal "Acta Universitatis Cibiniensis. Series E: Food Technology," which is indexed in multiple international databases and recognized for its academic impact.
