Summary: The project proposes the development of the traditional Sibiu garden concept through which City Halls and Local Councils can scientifically and technically substantiate their political decisions for sustainable development under the auspices of Sibiu European Gastronomic Region 2019. Inventory of distribution of genetic resources, agricultural practices applied in the context of sustainable development identify both new values of the extraordinary heritage in Sibiu County and will be the basis for substantiating a guide of good practices for Sibiu localities in terms of redefining the local identity and in terms of agricultural, food and environmental protection. The guide responds to the way we want the localities of Sibiu County to develop sustainably. Ornamental plants are unique in the gardens of South Eastern Transylvania and the gardens have never been defined to ensure the resilience of rural areas, the gastronomic imprint, the potential to connect with Sibiu restaurants or to contribute to food security under the impact of climate change. The case study is supported by the City Hall and the Moşna Local Council.
