The International Conference “Human Security. Theoretical Approaches and Practical Applications” (HSTAPA) is an event that brings together leading academics, policymakers, practitioners, and civil society organizations to explore and advance the multifaceted concept of the human security. This conference aims to foster a deeper understanding of theoretical frameworks while highlighting innovative practical solutions to contemporary security challenges, addressing the pressing issues facing humanity today. The international conference HSTAPA is organized within the Research Center for Political Sciences, International Relations and European Studies, Laboratory for Human Security Analysis, affiliated with the Department of International Relations, Political Science and Security Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, Astra County Library of Sibiu, and “Academia Ardeleană” Foundation of Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu. The 4th edition of the HSTAPA 2025 international conference will take place on 7th – 8th of November 2025.
The papers will be published in “Studia Securitatis” Journal (Studia Securitatis Journal ulbsibiu.ro)

🟢 Organizer – The Laboratory for Human Security Analysis 👩🎓 The Student Colloquium “Adaptation to Change – How Weapons Influence the Paradigm of Global Security” took place on December 12, 2023 and brought together students from the programs in Law, Security Studies, International Relations, and European Studies. ✅ Responding to students’ questions—and also engaging them in hypothetical scenarios—were Ana Morari (fourth-year student) and Ștefana Magdan (Master’s student), winners of the 2022 edition of the Nicolae Titulescu Humanitarian Law and Refugee Law Competition. 📚 Furthermore, the hosts of the event, Lecturer Dr. Andreea Dragomir and Lecturer Dr. Nicoleta Munteanu, celebrated the achievements of our students Edu Ana-Maria, Donuțiu Axel, Floarea George, and Ghiță Darius, who distinguished themselves in the finals of the competition held at the Ministry of Justice headquarters, returning to Sibiu with First Prize in both sections.
